I’m a San Francisco-based communications strategist and writer who supports organizations to build narrative power for social justice. Before working independently, I spent over twelve years creating communication strategies with movement organizations, unions, agencies, and mission-driven businesses and cooperatives across the US. I’m well-versed in supporting a range of people to advance their communications, including campaign, program, and communications staff, executive leaders, organizers, and community members.

I cut my teeth in this work with a farmworker-led, corporate-targeted campaign for fair wages and working conditions based in Immokalee, Florida. Organizing with diverse coalitions, developing campaign messaging, and garnering media attention across the South gave me a deep understanding of how to build powerful strategy in community, define audiences, and speak to them accordingly.

Later in New York City, I wrote and developed communications for a range of organizations challenging corporate and government abuses of power: for a coalition-based campaign that removed the lead director of JPMorgan from the board for a history of climate denialism; for a high-profile US trial against the former Bolivian president; and for a successful campaign to pressure the NY Department of Labor to make the minimum wage applicable to nail salon workers.

Over time, I saw that a lot of movement leaders doing important work often didn’t have the bandwidth to write about it, which is what motivated me to become a ghostwriter. Now, part of what I do is work alongside these leaders to develop their writing and elevate their perspectives to key audiences. Pieces I’ve ghostwritten have been published in The Guardian, Stanford Social Innovation Review, MarketWatch, Chronicle of Philanthropy, Truthout, and YES! Magazine, among others.

Beyond ghostwriting, I support organizations to communicate clearly and powerfully in compelling, accessible language – whether it’s new messaging for your organization or campaign, press materials, or web copy. I also work bilingually in Spanish. You can learn more about my background on LinkedIn
